Police seize 140 kilos of fireworks during checks in Baarle-Nassau
The police seized a total of 140 kilos of fireworks from two cars on Saturday afternoon in the border village of Baarle-Nassau. According to officers, this is a major seizure; a specialized company later collected and disposed of the large quantity. “The 100 kilos is considered a major catch,” the officers told Omroep Brabant. According to police, checks in the border village almost always yield results. “When you inspect vehicles in Baarle-Nassau, you quickly find something.” An additional 40 kilos of fireworks were also found in another car. The fireworks were collected by a specialized company and will be destroyed.
According to the officers, residents are happy with the checks. “While we were carrying out the inspection, several residents and a local councillor approached us.” They expressed their appreciation for the inspections.
