F1 is the lowest European fireworks category. It covers items presenting a very low hazard and negligible noise level, such as sparklers, throw-down snaps and certain small fountains.
How do you recognise F1 fireworks?
The packaging states category F1. Always check this: a small pack or familiar product name does not automatically mean the item belongs to that category.
In the Netherlands, also check the Dutch-language instructions, minimum age and required safety distance.
Are F1 fireworks still permitted?
F1 is exempt from the Dutch consumer ban. According to the Dutch government, this category may be set off throughout the year. Follow local rules and the instructions on the packaging.
Is F1 the same as children’s fireworks?
F1 is sometimes called children’s fireworks, but that does not mean every item is suitable for every age or risk-free.
Even small fireworks can become hot. Observe the age requirement, keep the required distance and use the product only as instructed by the manufacturer.
